Our program meets the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) evidence-based practice criteria for mental health and substance abuse treatment.
Sessions are held Monday-Friday. Patients enrolled in IOP will attend sessions three days per week. The average length of stay is eight weeks, but longer treatment will be assessed based on patient progress and need for ongoing support.

Heather Wheeler, LCSW, Accelerated IOP Therapist
Heather Wheeler is an independent Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has helped individuals of all ages, including children, adolescents, seniors, military veterans and families overcome mental, behavioral and emotional challenges. Her therapeutic approach includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She has experience treating various behavioral challenges and mental health issues throughout all levels of care including inpatient, residential and outpatient. As a member of our clinical team, she provides group, individual and family therapy services.
Barb Moore, MPC, LAC, Mental Wellness IOP Therapist
Barb Moore is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC).She is committed to providing a personalized level of care, giving careful consideration to the individual needs of her clients. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on becoming aware of inaccurate or negative thinking, she helps those with emotional and behavioral issues learn how to respond to challenging situations more effectively. She has experience and enjoys working with adults of all ages in both inpatient and outpatient settings. As a member of our clinical team, she provides group, individual and family therapy services.
Stephen Marshall, LMSW, Chemical Dependency Therapist
Stephen Marshall is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a B.A. in Psychology. He has extensive experience working with both adults and teenagers in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient and outpatient care. He believes strongly in the effectiveness of group therapy in treating individuals struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders Stephen’s therapeutic approach utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy, motivational interviewing, psychoeducation and group processing techniques as mechanisms for developing change and examining interpersonal relationships.
Copper Springs is committed to the ongoing recovery of all of our alumni. Our Alumni Support Group is open to all program graduates who are looking to further their recovery, find support, and connect with others within the recovering community.
Our weekly support group meetings are held every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
